 Mount Mogote

Hike to the summit of Mount Mogote which overlooks the town of Jarabacoa. At 5450 ft./1700 mts., the mountain towers 3520 ft./1100 mts. above nearby Jarabacoa. The view and surroundings are a great example of the beautiful dominican mountains.

  • Transport to/from Jarabacoa to the starting-point “Pinar Quemado”,

Jarabacoa and Surroundings

This tour gives an overview of the main attractions in Jarabacoa. Highlights of the tour are: a visit to an orchid plantation and coffee factory, a waterfall and the crossing of two interesting rivers, “Jimenoa” and “Yaque del Norte”.

  • lunch in a dominican “Comedor”

Rafting

An adventurous two and a half hour white water ride on the river “Yaque del Norte” is the highlight of this tour. In the morning we drive you to the rafting base where we enjoy breakfast before starting the day. After changing into protective wetsuits the guides give a short orientation, and then the fun begins. After completing the river ride an excellent lunch is provided at the “Rancho”.

Pico Duarte –Expedition

A hiking tour of two days duration to the top of the highest mountain in the Caribbean; “Pico Duarte”elevation 9850 ft./3078mts. This is truly one of the most interesting tour destinations we offer, especially since the climb passes through three separate ecosystems. Due to the different altitudes the vegetation changes from tropical to alpine. There is a fabulous variety of flora and fauna to be seen and the view from the summit is marvelous.
Attention: The ascent is steep and strenuous. The physical condition of each participant should be at least average. Rainwear and tight shoes are necessary.

Includes:

  • Two day tour, transportation from/to Jarabacoa and to/from the embarkation point at the Bermudez national park, all fees,

  • Food and beverages,

  • Mules for carrying the equipment (tents, sleeping-bags, food, etc.

  • Local Dominican tour guides and are provided,
